Electrical Engineer

  • Design and develop LV, HV and CAN network architectures for electric bus repower projects.
  • Build and test harnesses for the LV, HV and CAN networks, ensuring they meet the necessary performance and reliability requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify electrical component functionality and performance.
  • Support the development of new products and technologies through research and development efforts.
  • Provide technical support to other engineers on the team.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and test plans.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive electrical engineering, preferably in the electric vehicle industry.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and building LV, HV and CAN network architectures.
  • Experience in building and testing harnesses for LV, HV and CAN networks.
  • Familiarity with electric powertrain systems and components, such as batteries, electric motors, and power electronics.
  • Experience working with electrical simulation and design software.
  • Familiarity with automotive electrical testing and diagnostic tools.

Control Systems Engineer

This is a hands-on role for a talented engineer who enjoys designing and implementing control software & simulation models, as well as the creative problem solving, and testing required to ensure they function as intended.

  • Design, implement and test (utilizing MIL/SIL/in-vehicle validation) control software using a model-based development approach.
  • Design, implement and correlate BEV & HEV component and vehicle models for component sizing and performance analysis.
  • Support the transition of control systems software from Kleanbus to clients.
  • Write relevant specifications, requirements and test plans / reports.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans to develop an appropriate course of action.
  • Seeing projects through from conception to handover.
  • Take part in design reviews.

  • A minimum of a 2:1 in Automotive Engineering or similar
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in automotive control systems design, ideally working on BEV/HEV projects
  • Detailed control systems / plant models design, implementation, and validation experience
  • Experience in writing system and software specifications, requirements & test documents
  • Familiar with vehicle performance, economy, emissions and driveability attributes/trade-off’s
  • Proven track record in the effective delivery of technical objectives to quality and time targets
  • Enthusiastic to learn new disciplines and expand current technical and project knowledge
  • Experienced user of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow for embedded control system design and validation, along with a familiarity with powertrain modelling.
  • Experience with CCP & CAN based tools, e.g. INCA/CANape, CANalyzer, and CANbus
  • Experience and knowledge of whole vehicle electrical systems (high and low voltage)
  • Understanding and application of industry and safety standards relating to control systems (ISO 26262)
  • Formula Student experience or equivalent is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, system design, integration, and verification.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SysML, MagicDraw, System Composer.
  • Expert level knowledge of MathWorks toolchain, including MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
  • Familiarity with electric powertrain systems and components, such as batteries, electric motors, and power electronics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 safety standards and experience applying them to the development of safety-critical systems.
  • Vehicle networking, instrumentation, and integration experience.

  • Lead and participate in the development and implementation of functional safety processes and standards in compliance with ISO 26262.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers, to ensure that functional safety requirements are properly defined and integrated into the development process.
  • Perform hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety concept development for electric bus repower projects.
  • Define and manage safety requirements, including traceability from system level to hardware and software.
  • Utilize requirement management tools such as DOORS and Polarion to document, track, and manage safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct safety audits and assessments to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support safety-related activities, including safety analyses, safety case development, and functional safety validation and verification.
  • Collaborate with external safety assessors and certification authorities to achieve

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
